For some of us, retirement may seem like an eternity away. For others, it feels like it’s just around the corner! Whichever life stage you are at, it’s never too early to start thinking about what you want to do in retirement.
In this issue of Street Talk, we asked people what’s the number one thing they wish to do when they retire.
I’m working very hard at the moment in the hopes of retiring at 50. If I had sufficient funds, I’d leave for a vacation right away! Traveling during retirement is my chance to live out my dreams.
I’m being pretty ambitious, but I’m hoping to retire at 50 so that I can do what I’ve always wanted to do- which is running my own café! I love cooking and I can’t think of a better way of combining my passion and ensuring a reliable source of income in my later years.
Definitely got bitten by the travel bug early on in life! I hope to retire around 60 so that I’m still limber enough to settle my life in Singapore and embark on a continuous adventure around the world.
I’m hoping to retire at around 62-65. I’ve always wanted to learn new things. A new language maybe? For me, it’s a toss up between continuing to work if I can, to shifting to a new career so I can learn something new.
I’d love to retire now if I could haha! I haven’t often had the chance to go overseas or to take a long break. Travel is definitely the first item on my retirement bucket list.
I actually stopped working at 49. I rested for a long while and now I actually miss working, ironically enough. I’m currently looking for a job that will keep me occupied without being too taxing.
